What is a blackhead?
Blackheads, also known as comedones, are blockages of your pores. The dark (blackheads/ open comedones) or light (whiteheads/ closed comedones) discolored speck that closes the opening of a hair follicle / sebaceous gland is called a blackhead. This is the first step in a line of processes that the skin undergoes.
How can you treat this?
That's actually pretty easy! If you remove dead skin cells in a skin-friendly way, this can prevent the blockage and thus avoid the entire process. Use the LOOkX Derma skin polish pads three to four times a week. By adding salicylic acid and glycolic acid, the thickening of the skin is prevented and you clean the pores.
What is a pimple?
When you do not treat blackheads correctly, sebum production goes on and the hair follicle swells: a pimple is formed.
What is a pustule?
Sometimes the pressure in the hair follicle becomes so great that the walls tear, the sebum then penetrates the surrounding skin and a small inflammation develops. The pimple has now been promoted to pustule.
Now you know the difference between a pimple and a pustule. As with many skin conditions, prevention is better than cure.
What to do about pimples and pustules?
1. Do not dry out or try to extract pimples or pustules.
The golden tip! Never use care products with drying substances and do not squeeze out pimples and pustles. Due to the pressure you apply, the inflammation can spread. Which only aggravates the problem. When the skin is dehydrated, the sebaceous glands start to produce more sebum to compensate, which makes the problem worse.
