Blackheads, pimples & pimples

Your skin is the largest organ of your body and works (literally) like a well-oiled machine. She is busy protecting and responding to stimuli every day. Your skin is strong, elastic and waterproof. The skin's system works fine, but sometimes things go wrong... This mainly happens during puberty, but also later. Think of blackheads, pimples and pimples.

Blackheads/comedones

What is a blackhead?
Blackheads, also known as comedones, are blockages of your pores. The dark (blackheads/ open comedones) or light (whiteheads/ closed comedones) discolored speck that closes the opening of a hair follicle / sebaceous gland is called a blackhead. This is the first step in a line of processes that the skin undergoes.

How can you treat this?
That's actually pretty easy! If you remove dead skin cells in a skin-friendly way, this can prevent the blockage and thus avoid the entire process. Use the LOOkX Derma skin polish pads three to four times a week. By adding salicylic acid and glycolic acid, the thickening of the skin is prevented and you clean the pores.

Pimple VS pustule

What is a pimple?
When you do not treat blackheads correctly, sebum production goes on and the hair follicle swells: a pimple is formed.

What is a pustule?
Sometimes the pressure in the hair follicle becomes so great that the walls tear, the sebum then penetrates the surrounding skin and a small inflammation develops. The pimple has now been promoted to pustule.

Now you know the difference between a pimple and a pustule. As with many skin conditions, prevention is better than cure.

What to do about pimples and pustules?

1. Do not dry out or try to extract pimples or pustules.
The golden tip! Never use care products with drying substances and do not squeeze out pimples and pustles. Due to the pressure you apply, the inflammation can spread. Which only aggravates the problem. When the skin is dehydrated, the sebaceous glands start to produce more sebum to compensate, which makes the problem worse.

2. Use the right skincare products
Daily skincare is definitely recommended. To do this, use a good cleanser, scrub and day cream. The LOOkX Derma daily cleanser contains glycolic acid that not only cleanses the skin's surface, but also the inside of the pores. LOOkX Derma skin polish pads are salicylic acid and niacinamide-infused pads that remove dead skin cells in a skin-friendly way and prevent and reduce blackheads, pimples and pustles.

For the daily care, protection and repair of the skin, the LOOkX Solution cream is the best option. By adding a unique plant stem cell blend, pimples and pimples are prevented, and inflammation is reduced.

3. Protect your skin with a SPF
Pimples and pustles seem harmless, but can become a permanent frustration in the long run. The skin is not able to heal pimples if at the same time it has to fight against daily sun damage. A protective day cream or even a foundation with SPF offers the solution. LOOkX Natural velvet mineral foundation is natural and soft. This mattifying foundation contains SPF 15 and creates a perfectly even, soft skin.
